This privacy policy describes what data homesimprover.com collects from visitors, how we use that data, and how you can opt out. It applies to homesimprover.com and any subdomain we operate.

Data we collect by default

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) logs the IP address, user agent, referring URL, and requested URL for each request. We use these logs only for security, error diagnosis, and aggregate traffic analytics. Logs are retained for 30 days.
  • Aggregate analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not fingerprint visitors. The data we see is aggregate page view counts and approximate geographic regions. We do not see individual visitor sessions.

Data we collect when you opt in

  • Email newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and the date of subscription. We do not sell or rent email addresses. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • Contact form. Messages sent via the contact form are emailed to our editorial team and retained for 12 months.

Cookies

We don't set cookies for analytics or advertising. We may set a single functional cookie to remember a reader's font-size preference. We don't set third-party cookies on our pages.

Affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (Amazon, Home Depot, Wayfair, etc.) may set its own cookies and track your purchase to credit our commission. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.

California (CCPA) and other state privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise the other rights, email [email protected]. Similar rights apply for residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with their own privacy laws.

Children's privacy

Home's Improver is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
